Obituary of Mavis Jane Archer (nee Cowley)

<p style="text-align: center;">ARCHER, Mavis Jane (nee Cowley)</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">July 11, 1922 &ndash; June 19, 2017, passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens in Chatham, Ontario at the age of 94. Mavis was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Andrew &ldquo;Pete&rdquo; in 2008. Pete and Mavis were married in Tilbury July 16, 1945. Loving Mother of Anita Hasiuk (Borden), Tilbury, and Cynthia Abraham, Fort Myers, Florida. Dearest grandmother of Andrew, Signe, and John. Predeceased by brother Jay Cowley (1991) and sister JoAnne Cowley Dawson Bailey (2016). While Pete was oversees during the war, Mavis went to the University of Toronto and graduated as a Dental Nurse in 1942. Mavis and Pete spent their married life in Tilbury. Mavis was involved in the Chancel Guild at St. Andrew&rsquo;s Anglican Church. Mavis joined the I.O.D.E at the age of 18 and continued her involvement until the local chapter dissolved 2 years ago. Mavis received the Queen&rsquo;s Jubilee Medal for her commitment to various projects through the I.O.D.E. Visitation is at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal Street West, Tilbury, Ontario from 5 &ndash; 8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017. Funeral service at the funeral home Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. Rev. Doreen Hewitson officiating. Interment at St. George&rsquo;s Cemetery. Memorial donations to New Beginnings&nbsp;appreciated.</p>
