MARCHAND, Maurice
92 years, of Tilbury, passed away at Chatham-Kent Hospice on Friday, April 22, 2016. Maurice was married to his beloved wife Alice Bertha Marchand (nee Smith) on June 19, 1946 and celebrated 69 years of marriage. Loving father of Linda (Marvin) Quenneville, Joan (Greg) Hill, Stephen Marchand, Mary Ellen Marchand, Maurice (Barbara) Marchand, David (Caterina) Marchand, and Mark (Patricia) Marchand. Special grandfather to 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Deo and Emma (Morel) Marchand. Dear brother of the late Gerard (surviving wife Doreen) Marchand, the late Raymond (late Eva) Marchand, the late John Louis (late Eva) Marchand, Laurence (Frances) Marchand, and Joanne (Richard) Halloran. Dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Maurice served his country in the Royal Canadian Army with the Fort Garry Horse Regiment during World War II and was awarded the Knight of the National Order of the Legion of France in 2014. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 206, Msgr. A.J. McNabb Council 2356 Knights of Columbus, and a past member of Andrew Michael Taggart 4th Degree Assembly 0888, all of Tilbury. Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Legion service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. K of C prayers 8:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral service from the funeral home Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10 a.m., then to St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Memorial donations to Branch 206 Royal Canadian Legion Building Fund, St. Francis Xavier Church Building Fund, or Chatham-Kent Hospice appreciated.
