sorry to hear of Maurice passing away. Has been awhile since we seen one another but worked together at Union Gas a few years ago. Enjoyed our working time together as a great bunch of guys worked in Tilbury. Many a story did Maurice tell.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Uncle Moe. It was just 2 years ago I saw him at my dad George's 80th birthday party, and Uncle Moe and I recognized each other right away. Always a favorite uncle,I will remember his good humour, his great huge smile, and his twinkling eyes. I am so sorry to hear of his death. God bless all of you in this sad sad time.

While I was a teacher at Tilbury Area Public School, I invited Tom King, Tinny Chevalier and Maurice as guests for our Remembrance Day assemblies. These 3 men became special friends. There was always a big smile and a hug from Maurice when we would meet on the street. Joy Davis, another teacher, has taken some wonderful photos of Maurice at the cenotaph. I had one of my favourites duplicated, and put into a frame. When I took it to Maurice we had a lovely visit. My sympathies are with all of you at this time. This past Sunday at Sprucedale United Church in Chatham, I asked for prayers for Maurice, your mom, and your family. The service at the cenotaph will not be the same without Maurice. He will long be remembered. Linda Henderson

Growing up in the Marchand family was always full of family. Everyone Visited and cousins knew each other. And we can't forget the "Family Reunions"! Even though Maurice wasn't my Uncle, he was always Uncle Maurice to me. He and my Dad were close and we saw him all the time. As time moves on and kids grow up we saw less and less of each other but no one can take away all the wonderful memories I have of "Uncle Maurice". God bless all of you.

During the occasions I had the pleasure of visiting with Uncle Maurice and Aunt Alice with my late wife Christine Mousseau, I always found them to be warm and welcoming people, the sort who make one feel at home and part of the family. I and my daughters Angelina and Adie want you to know our thoughts are with you, and that we will continue to have very fond memories of the time we spent with him.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather brother and uncle. Maurice will always be remembered for his sense of humour which was evidently passed on to his children. His service to his country was always important to him and he will be remembered as one who was not afraid to risk his life for his country or the freedom of others. When I think of him I always, in my minds eye, see the picture of the lady who made the trip to our remembrance services for many years just to thank him for helping to free her country. Rest in peace with your fellow comrades. Hugs to the entire family.
