BORNAIS, Paul Joseph
69 years, died peacefully on July 29, 2013 at home surrounded by his family and holding his wife’s hand. Precious husband for almost 45 years to Pauline (nee Janisse). Predeceased by his parents Alfred (1990) and Florence Bornais (1976) (nee Laliberte), father in law, André Janisse, (1976) and his niece Kelly, (1994). Loving father of Jeannine (Alan Jackson), Langley, BC, Renée, (Jason Wintermute), St. Clair Beach, Robert (Alison), Windsor, Jacqueline (Sven Poysa), Toronto, and Daniel (Emily), Ottawa. Dearest pépé to Karina and Eric Wintermute, Maxime, Clara, and Noah Poysa, and Mila Bornais. Dear brother to Jeanne (James Goodreau). Dear son in law to Alice (Robillard) Janisse. Dear brother in law to Albert Janisse (Stephanie) and Maurice Janisse (Patricia). Loving uncle to nine nieces and nephews. Paul was a dedicated teacher and Department Head at Tilbury District High School for 29 years, past president of the St. Joachim Athletic Association, and coached numerous sports at school and in the community. Paul enjoyed golfing with his sons and other family and friends as well as long distance cycling. He was an avid wood worker and many articles of his craft can be seen in his and his children’s homes. Paul and Pauline loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida. Paul was a member of the Visitation Parish Fundraising Committee for over ten years, organizing many successful golf tournaments. He was also a member of La Chorale from Visitation Parish and a former reader, commentator, Eucharistic minister, and greeter. Paul had such a positive outlook on life and a wonderful joie de vivre! Visitation at Paul Reaume Funeral Home, Comber, Ontario on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 2 - 5 and 7 – 9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:00p.m. and on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 10:30 a.m at Visitation Parish, Comber. Cremation has already taken place. As your expression of sympathy, memorial tributes to Visitation Parish Building Fund or to Transition to Betterness Fund would be appreciated by the family.
