Obituary of Georgina Ruth Wilson

WILSON, Georgina Ruth (nee Vinter)

At 95 years, of Tilbury, formerly of Toronto and Chatham, entered into the Lord's presence on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Hudson Manor, Tilbury.  Daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Vinter, born January 26, 1929.  Cherished and devoted wife of the late Alexander "Sandy" Wilson for 65 years.  Although they had no children of their own they were 'adopted' parents and grandparents to many.  She was resident of the Chatham Retirement Resort and Hudson Manor in Tilbury.  Georgina and Sandy were also much loved members of the Tilbury Baptist Church.  She is predeceased by 3 brothers; Donald, Alfred, and Beverley and 2 sisters; Gladys and Audrey.  Predeceased by niece Donna and nephews Beverley, Charles, and Ronald.  Survived by nieces; Ruth (late Elmer) Ames and Shirley (late Johnnie) Anderson, and 2 nephews; Robert (Meryl) Parish and Wayne (Sharon) Brown.  Georgina's first full time job was with Bell Telephone as a telephone operator, for nearly 16 years, in Tilbury.  Bell switched to the dial system in 1962 and that ended her employment.  During her working years, she worked on a variety of modern switchboards.  Their home was always a welcome place to Seminary students, missionaries and many friends.  Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury on Friday March 1, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday March 2, 2024 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.  Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Tilbury.  Pastor Dale Nevelizer officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations to Tilbury Regular Baptist Church appreciated.
