Andy was always a fun loving cousin. He had the biggest smile and you could always count on him to add humour to any situation. I have so many fond memories over the years but I would love to share a couple of my favourite times with him. We went on a family fishing trip to Lake of the Woods and Andy asked if I wanted to go out and try some night time fishing, the rest of the guys were already out but I jumped at the chance to catch “Walter” with my cousin. It was peaceful out on the lake but in the distance I could see lightening. I asked Andy if we should head in and he said don’t worry that storm is not coming. A little while later I asked again because it seemed like the storm was getting closer. Again he said the storm is way off. About 5 minutes later a big swirl of wind came up and it started raining, Andy said I think the storm is here! No kidding. He revved up the motor and headed back to camp and his hat fell off in the lake. He had me sitting with a flashlight at the front of the boat looking for landmarks. He said if the next point wasn’t one of our landmarks we were pulling up on shore and riding the storm out. Thank goodness we were almost to camp. With a sigh of relief I asked him-weren’t you scared because I sure was? Of course he answered no. All of a sudden the guys that were out fishing were waiting in a bush for us to return and as we were heading back to the cabin they let out a big bear roar-and Andy roared back. We got back to the cabin and Andy admitted he was scared. We were all so excited about what we had been through we woke uncle Andy and Aunt Lil up. It is one of my fondest memories ever! Of course there is another fishing story but this time with Don, Dave and Andy, They were out for a day of fishing and were asking Andy about why he had to bring such a big fishing net. He said you never know when you will need it. That day Don caught the biggest Musky of his life and of course Andy had the net to help land it. Thank goodness he brought the net, You will always be fondly remembered Andy- always with love in our hearts and a smile on our face.
