Obituary of Paul Belanger

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Paul in his 80th year. He passed peacefully, with family by his side, on January 7, 2021, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Tilbury on September 29, 1941. Beloved husband of Carmel (Rivest) in their 60th year of marriage. Son of the late Andrew (1980) and Evelyn (Donais). Son-in-law of Origene (1987) and Dora (Ladouceur) (2012). Loving father of Greg (Kim), Lindsay (Shelly), and Nicole (Gilbert) Corbin. Proud grandfather and papa of Amanda, Andrew, Brittany, Aaron, Erik, Angelique, Brianna, Kyle, and Cole. Great grandfather and papa to Bryson and Indie. Dearest brother of Rose Morris, Betty (2020) (Peter) Ainslie, Peter Belanger, and Jane (Rene) Lebeouf. Dear brother-in-law of Madeline (Leonard) Alexander, Lucie Stark, Francis (Idil) Rivest, Victor (2020) (Pat) Rivest, Claire Marie (Leo) Larente, and Jerome Rivest. He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paul will be greatly missed by a lifetime of dear friends North and South of the border. Paul was always self employed as a hairstylist and entrepreneur. He was an elected member of the Town of Tilbury Council for many years. Paul became a passionate golfer during his retirement years, enjoyed dancing, and cutting his grass. On weekends he enjoyed being the Saturday greeter at Tilbury Auto Sales. A huge “thank you” to the medical professionals, staff, and volunteers at London Heath Sciences Centre (LHSC), Victoria Hospital, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, and Erie St. Clair LHIN, Hospice of Windsor-Essex for their love, care and compassion to Paul and his family. Visitation will be held at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury, on Saturday January 9, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Due to COVID-19 regulations you must register to attend visitation.
