We met Shirley at a Thunderbird Club event some years back and found her to be a very personable, likeable and lovely person to be around. We always looked forward to seeing them the next time the Thunderbird group met. We will miss her smiling face. Our favorite memory was from a stop on the tour in northern Michigan where she played, barefooted on a very old instrument in a museum!. Bill and Donna Long

Dear Tim, Jackie, Zachary and Andrea,
We’re so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a valiant fighter who gave much of herself to others so selflessly. Crammed a lot of living into a short number of years! She has certainly earned her eternal rest.
I believe “death is only a horizon and a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight”. Take comfort in your memories, Shirley is at peace now.

Ken, Jacqueline, Jonathan and families, our most sincere condolences on the loss if your wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley was such a lovely woman, kind and loving to all those who knew her. She took special care of those she cared for through Para Med, as she was often seen at West Oak in Comber looking after one of our residents.
She loved her music, and her talent was shared with the parishioners of St. Francis Parish.
You have lost a wonderful and loving person, but her memories are forever embedded in your hearts. Rest in Peace Shirley, your pain has been relieved and you are now facing your loving God. Love to all the family! Bert and Margie

Our deepest condolences to Ken and to Shirley's entire Family. Shirley truly was a gift to all and was such a joy to be around.
Thankful to have known Shirly & Ken for the last 34 years. She was an inspiration in her sharing at meetings and retreats over the years. We will always treasure being included in some of the events around her Christmas concerts, fish dinner gatherings, and the after gatherings at the farm where she provided a warm, friendly atmosphere that will always stay in our hearts - in her Motherly way - she always insisted you try as many of her home-baked desserts as possible. We thank God also for our Zoom friend group on Saturday evenings, during Covid. Shirley made sure to take us on a 'virtual tour' of her Beautiful gardens and update us on details about the house and farm which she loved so much. But most importantly expressed her love for her family.
Rest in Peace Shirley - May you now experience Peace Beyond all Understanding.
