Joseph Boudreau

Obituary of Joseph Edward Boudreau

Passed away October 14 2020 at home surrounded by love. Born 75 years ago to Dolores and Albert Boudreau.
Rarely do people pass from our lives without leaving a mark.  Ed was one of those whose mark will be felt by those that knew him. A truly generous man whose smile and laughter made the worst day better. A man who not formally educated, spent his life time reading and educating himself, amassing a private library the envy of any small town. A hard working Chrysler guy whose goal was to put in 30 years of honest labour and receive thirty years of pension in return.  A union man who believed strongly in social issues and backed that up with financial support. A man despite multiple health challenges fought everyday to live happy. He loved to travel and spend time with his wife, Maggie who he adored.
A man whose generosity was private, whose love was rarely expressed but freely given.  Best friend for 37 years to his wife Margaret (Maggie) Reed. Father to Cindy Boudreau, brother of Marikay Sheehan (Late Ray) late Wayne (Darlene), brother in law to Joan Lippens (Bob), John Reed (Ruth Taylor), uncle to Dawn Boudreau, Barry Boudreau, Victor Boudreau, late Guy Sheehan, Brian, Colleen, Lisa and Debbie Sheehan.  Antonia, Christina, Thomas Reed, Beverly Reed and Cee, Kristen, Paul and James Lippens. Great uncle to thirteen great nieces and nephews.
Special acknowledgment goes to Ed’s caregivers. In a very trying time in our history, these special women brought laughter daily into Ed’s life. Every day Ed and Maggie woke with gratitude for the gifts that they were given.  The care that Ed received was because of his good fortune to live in Canada.
In support of Ed’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Donations to the Tilbury Information and Help Centre food bank or Ed’s favourite charity, Doctors without Borders would be appreciated.  Please, in memory of Ed, do one kindness for someone today.
