Bill was a much-loved cousin who will be very much missed. We had lots of good times in the Thibideau and Broad households, laughing at the antics of our parents, aunts and uncles, and sharing food. Bill was a positive and warm individual with the biggest smile. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to the Broad family on Bill's sudden passing. I enjoyed working with Bill at Meritor for a number of years, especially on the midnight shift. He was actively involved with the Health and Safety committee and he enjoyed that very much. He often spoke highly of his family and enjoyed being involved with their activities. I liked going our for coffee with him after the factory closed. It gave us time to reminisce and talk about his involvement with his son's business in Windsor. He will be missed.

Many a summer Bill and I played slo-pitch in the Stoney Point oldtimers league . For years during the winter months we played basketball at the St. Paul school gym. This was open to everyone ,male or female and any age. Kids from grade school who were just starting to learn the game would come. They would be shy and a little nervous ,Bill would gently suggest ,hint and sometimes demonstrate tips that would help them learn the basics of the game. More importantly Bill was family man. He loved his family and was fiercely devoted to his wife Pierrrette his children,Jennifer, Mike ,Dave and Mark. I ,like many others will miss seeing him walking up the sidewalk and his wave. On occasion we would discuss politics ,economy and the red wing - leafs rivalry. We never solved all the problems but it was interesting. Bill was a good man and will be missed. My deepest sympathies to the family.

My sincere condolences to the Broad family. I was privileged to be a basketball coach for both Mike and Dave. Both were fine young men. Dave has become an exemplary coach and teacher. I am sure Bill and your mom were a big part of this.

Uncle Bill was our very own personal superhero, leading by example. Family was everything, but family was also everyone - if you were lucky enough to meet Bill Broad, then you loved him and he loved you. He did not discriminate in his love for humanity or in the way he treated other human beings. After his nieces and nephews lost their fathers and mother, Uncle Bill stepped in as a surrogate father. He cared deeply about others, devoting much of his working life to the health and safety of his fellow union members, but he loved to have fun too. I never spent a day with him when he didn’t find something to laugh and smile about. A Wallaceburg boy raised with faith and values, Bill Broad was a role model in how to live a really great life and we can honour his memory by doing exactly what he taught us to do - by loving and caring for our families, by treating strangers like family, by hugging babies, by enjoying nature and staying physically fit, by leaving no one behind. The families of Chuck and Helen and Gene send our deepest sympathy to Aunt Pierrette and all of you. We will strive to live our lives the way he did, being kind and finding joy every single day.

I haven’t seen Bill in a few years but I always remember him being involved with all kinds of sports with his children. He was a great father and husband. His family always came first. He was a great friend and I enjoyed coaching baseball with him. RIP Bill
