A Note From A Nephew - my mother Madeline was Pat’s sister. When I was quite young he used to let me ‘help out’ at his gas station on Highway 2 just west of Queen Street going towards Windsor. I am not sure but I think that it was a White Rose station. At any rate, Uncle Pat taught me an important life lesson. It was that when you are cleaning off someone’s windshield using a squeegee (remember full service stations?) that after washing the dirt off the best way to wipe away the water with the rubber side of the squeegee was to start wiping across from the top - not from the bottom. If you start at the bottom the water from the top just keeps running down to where you have already wiped it off. It works WAY better the way he showed me. Something I have never forgotten.
All my best thoughts from Ottawa,
Gary
