Dianne Paquette was a very respected and beloved teacher at the University of Windsor Nursing Faculty. I had her in my second year for clinical, and she was definitely one of my most influential instructors. I am deeply saddened by her passing, but I will always remember her with great fondness. I am forever thankful to have had the chance to meet her, and be taught by her. I don't think I could ever look at a baby the same, without thinking of Dianne and her delightful way of calling them "fleabags". You will forever be remembered Dianne. And your family and friends are in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dianne and Doug and their family and friends. I got the opportunity to become friends with Dianne through her passion for line dancing. She was fun to dance next to and had many laughs. She is missed by the dancing community. She is definitely etched in our minds and our hearts. Miss you my friend.

My heartfelt condolences to Dianne's family and loved ones here in Canada and in Australia.
I was fortunate enough to have had "Di/Auntie Di" (she usually shrugged off attempts from us students to call her Professor Paquette)as a clinical instructor at the U of Windsor in 2008, my second year of nursing school. She possessed a contagious laugh, an easygoing manner, and had a way of telling stories that you remembered- things I appreciated, as a student. However she also had a passion for her work, extensive nursing experience, and a gift for teaching that helped demystify maternal-child nursing for me. I'm very grateful for the chance to have learned from her; she will be greatly missed.

Dianne was a genuine person who valued the art of teaching and partnerships in learning. She felt priviledged to have influenced so many young individuals through their nursing studies and felt honorable when her clinical group held a "Canada Day" party when she became a Canadian citizen. I will cherish my friendship with her forever.

I extend my sincere sympathies to all of Diane's family and friends. She was a wonderful person, nurse and co-worker, who possed many great qualities - humour, passion, and dedication in all she did. I worked with Diane and her students at Windsor's Downtown Mission - she supervised 4th year students, and I had 3rd year. We all loved her
professional caring disposition, along with her wit. In addtion, Diane's humour, story-telling and line-dancing, made picketing quite bearable, a couple of years ago, during our strike. She will be sadly missed by all.

To the families of both Dianne and Roy. Sympathies move across miles in recognition of two wonderful individuals who were the "salt of the earth". Dianne was such a delight to be with- full of humorous reflections on life, with compassion and advocacy for the downtrodden, vulnerable, premature and those having a tough time. SHe was a beakon of hope to us all, with a heart the size of Australia. She loved students, nature, pets,& babies. We miss "Auntie Di" here, and wonder how Roy's family is doing as well as you folks across the world. Our prayers are with you. We are keeping her memories by a small memorial set up at our front desk. There is an Innukshuk there, beside her photo in honour of both Dianne and Roy with a memorial candle and two stars. Dianne came to my retirement Open House the week prior to the crash. Roy had driven her down so she could be "with her mates" to help say goodbye to me. Little did I think I would be saying goodbye to both Roy and his beloved Dianne a week later. I treasure her card, written words of encouragement for me, the Koala and Aussie pen and stickers she gave me. They have a new sentiment today. We will remember your beloved Dianne and Roy as well. Dianne: What a lively, lovely, passionate, professional, caring, witty woman. I had the privelege of learning from Dianne over several years as we taught side by side or shared a cup of tea. Lady Di lit up a room when she entered. I'll never forget our celebration at a restaurant where the staff surprised her with a "Canadian" birthday dessert. The waitress told me it was an honour to serve Dianne and the staff warmly congratulated her. She blessed them more than they did her with her smile, wit and tears.
Second year at the Faculty of Nursing will never be the same without Dianne. Whenever the students mentionned her, the word love often came up. She was greatly respected by both students and staff alike.
Dianne took her strength and leadership from the Lord in her beautiful servant's heart. She frequently spoke of her family with warmth and love. My prayers lift her and Roy's family up before the Lord for comfort, peace and guidance. I will miss her greatly.
