Obituary of Leonard Eugene (Gene) Peltier

PELTIER, Leonard Eugene “Gene” Of Tilbury, passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance surrounded by the family he loved on March 16, 2011 in his 84th year. Born in Tilbury on November 2, 1927, devoted son of the late Leonard Eugene Sr. (1973) and Anna Marie (Duquette) Peltier (1984). Cherished husband of Rose (Breynaert) Peltier of 57 years. Loving father of Allan Peltier and Annie of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Michael and Susan Peltier of Tilbury, Sheila and Larry Cartier of Chatham, Mathew Peltier at home, and very special nephew Randy Thibeault of Sudbury. Dearest grandfather of James (Jenn), Terry, Christine (Nick), Jason (Robin), Aaron, Megan, Alanna, Nathan, and great grandchildren Morgan, Tristan, Chasey, and Bryce. Respected brother of Eleanor (Cyril-1988) Breynaert, Bernice (Alfio-1992) Papa, Norman (Betty-2008) Peltier, Marlene-2003 (Ronald-1986) Hunter, Jerry and Margaret LeClaire, and Mary Peltier (Luc Decaire). Dear brother -in-law of Art Peck, Joe (Joyce) Breynaert, and predeceased by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Also loved by several stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral service from the funeral home Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10 a.m., then to St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Memorial donations to Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, St. Francis Xavier Church Building Fund, or Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Palliative Care appreciated.
