So sorry to learn of your Dad's passing - my Father Mac was one of his old golfing buddys. He really enjoyed playing a round or two with the young guy Howard! There was a big age difference (20yrs) between them but the game was a great equalizer. Again please accept my condolences.

Our entire family would like to say how sweet Howard was and always such a gentleman. He will be missed by so many friends. We always remembered him taking his schnauzer Sadie for a walk. He always had a smile and stopped to say hello. Peace be with you Howard. Brian & Judy Taylor, Debbie, Brenda, Scott and families.

Thinking of you during this difficult time. I'll always remember going to the house while mom and dad (clive and evelyn)played cards. Then your mom would make sandwiches when they were done playing
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family

Remembering Howard takes me fondly back to simpler times spent growing up in Tilbury just across the street from the Herman family. Les was my very first friend and I spent many hours during my early years with him in the Herman household. Howard was always interested in what was going on among the kids and knew how to get us laughing with his dry wit...though sometimes it was hard to tell when he was serious. Later, as a young adult, I would see Howard every once in a while either in Beaver Lumber or the Brewers Retail Store where I worked during the summers while attending university. When I married and moved to Windsor, my wife Anne and I would see him in the Beaver Lumber there, where he worked for a few years near the end of his career. He always had the time to chat about Tilbury and what was going on in the Carrick family. I will miss seeing him but will always remember him.
