Obituary of Joy Yvonne McGuire
McGUIRE; Joy - Passed away peacefully and suddenly on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Hudson Manor in Tilbury. JOY McGUIRE (nee Wright), in her 86th year, was a lifelong resident of Comber. Joy will be joining in heaven her husband Carlton (1998) and her daughter Pat Mailloux (2006). She will be greatly missed by her children Carol Lea McGuire of Leamington, Jim and Janice McGuire of Comber, Peter and Mari-Lee McGuire of London, Kay and Frank Polistena of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Don and Nancy McGuire of Whitby, her son-in-law Roger Mailloux and his wife Marion of Petrolia. Joy will always be loved and missed by her grandchildren Steven and Laurel Mailloux and their daughters Aliya, Halle, and Morgan, Jeff and Lindsey Mailloux and their children Miller, Maxx, and Marli, Heather and Terry Hill and their children Caleb, Aiden, and Aleda, Carolyn, Kristopher, Jennifer, Scott, and Greg McGuire, Mikayla and Patrick Polistena, Sean and Michelle McDonnell, and Jordan McGuire. Joy was the daughter of the late Forest and Florence Wright and the sister of the late Russell Wright and his wife Marion of Comber. Joy was a sister-in-law to Bill and Betty McGuire and the late Allan and his wife Irene McGuire, all of Tilbury. She was special Aunt Joy to many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Comber, Joy attended Normal School in London becoming a teacher. After marrying Carlton, she partnered with him to operate McGuire Farm & Recreation and more importantly devoted her time raising her six children and later enjoying her grandchildren and being Grandma Joy to her nine great grandchildren. In retirement, Joy enjoyed the warm weather and many friends she had at her winter home in St. Pete's Beach, Florida. After moving to Hudson Manor Retirement Home, she enjoyed three active years with her many friends there and she will be greatly missed. Visitation at Paul Reaume Funeral Home, Comber from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at McDowell Cemetery.
