Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Larry Hillman, 81, died May 15th 2024 at his home in Tilbury, surrounded by his wife and children. Beloved husband for 60 years to Sharron (nee Morris) Hillman. Much loved father toTodd (2017) Hillman, Melinda (Gord) Nussey, Chris (Jennifer) Hillman . Beloved Papa to Krista, Trevor, Alaina, Travis, Brooke and Lucas. Great Papa to Bridget, Levis and Cove. Son of the late Archie and Kathleen Hillman. Brother of the late Nancy, late Richard and Doug (Barb) Hillman. Brother In Law of Bryan Morris, Clare (Nancy) Morris and Clark Morris. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Larry worked at Chrysler for 35 years, and retired in 1997.
Larry will be remembered as being quick witted, full of spirit, and a kind, loving man. He loved reading, especially western novels, war stories and true events. He loved Sharron’s cooking, with a precise supper time of 5pm, with meatloaf and chicken casserole at the top of the list. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, restoring cars and fixing bicycles, lawnmowers in his garage. He loved watching baseball, particularly the Toronto Blue Jays with his brother Doug. He loved playing with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, keeping the tradition of talking into the floor grate as Santa Claus coming on Christmas Eve. He loved black licorice, sardines and cheetos puffs. He loved many people and many things, but the love his family has for him exceeds all of that by miles. We were beyond blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him everyday. Larry’s wishes were to not have a funeral or celebration of life, but for people to do something they individually enjoy.
