Obituary of David Wilfred Blain

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Wilfred Blain at the age of 73 on December 22, 2023.

David is survived by his loving wife Elaine (nee Cottingham) and children Colleen & Terry King, Darryl & Amanda Blain, Lindsay & Jason Dozois. Papa to the absolute lights of his life, his “ladies”, granddaughters Vanessa & Stephanie King, Alexia, Audrey, Clara & Davi Blain.Cherished son to Pauline & late Rene (2012) Blain. Brother to late Diane & late Jim Peltier, Judy & Ken Blain, Donald & late Aline Blain, Annette & Roger Desimpel.  Brother in law to Nancy & late Jim Pearson, Bruce & Donna Cottingham, Brenda & John Stock, Janice & Jim McGuire. Proud uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

David was the owner of Rene Blain Trucking in Tilbury, Ontario. He enjoyed his work, cards and travels with friends, watching his family’s activities and accomplishments, and the occasional cold refreshment.

Special thanks to the team at the Chatham Kent Hospice for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

A private family church service is to be held for David.  A celebration of life will be held for David on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the SCOT (former K of C) 20 Dupuis Street, Tilbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the  Chatham Kent Hospice (link) or the Tilbury District Family Health Team would be appreciated.
