Obituary of Donald Arthur Duquette
DUQUETTE Donald Arthur
passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2023 at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County after 71 years of waking up on the ''right side of the grass''.
Don is survived by his children Shaun Duquette, Julie (Dave) Liu, Ryan Duquette and Nicole (Brian) Giansante, his 5 loving grandchildren (Mélanie and Félix Liu, and Rémi, Emma and Isabelle Giansante), and siblings Patricia Gaudreau-Loebach, Ray (Darlene) Duquette, Alex (Barb) Duquette, Louis (Mary Jane) Duquette, Paul (Susan) Duquette, Leo Duquette (Diane St. Pierre), Dave Duquette and Harry Duquette, and sister-in-law Erla Duquette. He is predeceased by parents Louis and Agatha (née Regnier) Duquette, brother Clarence Duquette, brothers-in-law Leonard Gaudreau and Larry Loebach, and sisters-in-law Cecile Duquette and Cindy Sealy-Duquette.
Don decided to ''give it a rest'' in his retirement after a long career at Navistar in Chatham, spending time with loved ones and making sure everyone continued to ''keep 'er on four wheels''. His great sense of humour brought joy to those around him and he showed his love for others through acts of service, making sure everyone had what they needed or lending them a hand. He had a reputation in his neighbourhood for snow-blowing the driveways of others, and dutifully cared for his mother for a number of years.
A public visitation will be held on December 11th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury for family and friends to say their goodbyes. A private family service will be held on December 12th, 2023. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County in Don's memory.
