Obituary of Marion Frances Badman

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marion Frances Badman (nee Ford) on January 20, 2023. Born on February 6, 1931 in Merlin, Ontario, she died in her 92nd year at the Seacliff Manor Retirement Residence in Leamington, Ontario.

Loving wife of Lorne Badman (1988) of Comber, Ontario for 38 years, and cherished mother of Barb (late John) Wallace, Pam (Dave) Ford, Cindy (Scott) Walstedt, Patti (Ron) Dufault, and the late David Badman (Laurie).

Daughter of the late Bernice and Stanley Ford, she is survived by sisters Helen, Joan, Sandra, Bev, and brother Aubrey, and predeceased by 8 other siblings (Henry, Clayton, Jack, Rosemary, Marshall, Robert, Carol, and Cheryl).

She was raised by her late aunt and uncle, Mary and Elmer Goslin who were Mother and Dad to her. Frances is survived by siblings Dorothy Shilson and Bob (Linda) Goslin. Predeceased by sisters Doreen (Garth) Chadwick and Ora (Dean) Mellow. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law June (late Albert) Wright, and daughter-in-law of the late Belle and Bert Badman of Comber/Goderich, Ontario.

Frances was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren — James, Erin (D.J.), Brooke, Lauren (Tyler), Jonathan (Debbie), Rebecca (Joe), Jaclyn (Nich), Jessica, Braeden (Emily), Amanda, Alex (Alyssa), Trevor, Amberly (Brock), Kristen (Jim), and Derek (Alisha), and 21 great grandchildren (Mila, Caiden, Tristen, Lucas, Landon, Charley, Sophie, Ava and Emma, Samuel, Judah, Anna, Andrew, Hannah, Helen, Evelyn, Sophie, Brett, Noah, Hannah, and Lincoln). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends in her communities.

Frances enjoyed hairdressing in Comber for many years and loved using her creativity to cook, decorate, and furnish her home as an expression of her homemaking talents. She loved to laugh and in her later years at the Seacliff Manor, she enjoyed participating in activities, such as bingo!

She was truly the heart of her home, and was a steadfast and supportive part of our lives. She will be dearly missed and loved forever!

Special thanks to Dr. Simpson, the staff at Seacliff Manor, the health care team of the Windsor Regional Hospital — Ouellette Campus 4th Floor, and to her many friends over the years.

To respect her wishes, there will be a private family gathering at a later date. Donations can be made to the McDowell Cemetery, Comber, Ontario. On line condolences may be shared at www.reaumefh.com.
