Obituary of Robert James Vidamour
VIDAMOUR, Robert (Bob) James,
73 years, passed away peacefully Thursday morning April 26, 2012 with his best friend and loving wife, Sandra, of nearly 18 years by his side at Metropolitan Hospital. Born September 27, 1938 in Liverpool, England. Now reunited with his beloved daughter Alison Heywood (2004). Survived by his brother Les (Esther) Vidamour, Liverpool, England. Also survived by treasured daughter Joanne (Patrick) Pinsonneault. Loving Grandfather of Adam, Tyler and Lucas Pinsonneault and Justine Heywood. Dear brother-in-law of Helen and Richard Beneteau and Joyce Morency. Forever remembered by many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Bill and Sandy Jackson. Bob received his apprenticeship with the Merchant Marines and worked throughout Europe and North America for many years as an Engineer in the Tool and Die Trade, before he settled in the Chatham area where he was Manager in charge of Engineering, Sales and Production at Superior Machine and Tool Ltd. (Chatham) for 30 years. Bob’s passion was making music with his friends with the Windsor Banjos of which he was a member for 23 years, holding various board positions including President. He also served on the board of the Great Lakes International Banjo Convention for 17 years in Dearborn, MI making music and friends from all across North America. The family, especially Sandra would like to thank the staff of the 4th floor Oncology Unit at Metropolitan Hospital for their outstanding care given to Bob during his illness. Special thanks to neighbours Theresa and Greg Roelens for all of their support and help during this difficult time. A service will be held on Monday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Reaume Funeral Home, 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury, Ontario. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.
