Over recent years I had several good hours visiting with Retta and Bill in Chatham. I regret that the pandemic restrained those visits to Bill. My thanks go out to their family for their diligent care. Though I am saddened for them I cannot but be happy for Bill and Retta, fully themselves, enjoying each other, rejoicing in life beyond life. I feel privileged to have known them.

Bill, and Retta also, always had a smile and chuckle whenever we'd meet. He will be sadly missed by friends and family alike. What a beautiful long life! Take comfort in happy memories.

Often with my coming out of the nursing home I would see Bill sitting on his swing in front of the garage. Many times I sat with him to shoot the breeze. Easy to talk with, easy to like. Michael McConnell

My condolences to Bill's extended family on Bill's passing. I remember the Lumley Grocery in Tilbury and Bill as a fellow usher at Darrell S. Moffat Memorial United Church when I was growing up as a teenager in the 1950's. His son, Bill was a little younger than me. Dick Burgess
