She married the love of her life George Cook February 2, 1963. “You could look the world over and never find a better man” she would often say. She moved to the farm in Tilbury East and it was there that they began their lives and started raising a family. Mom enveloped her family in a circle of strength, love, memories and moments that will hold us tightly together. We meant everything to her and she meant the world to us. Nothing gave Bubs more pleasure than hosting family, friends, and church events - card parties, teas, choir practice (Sister’s Act) in their home. It was a home full of activity, abundant love, laughter and music. Edith, let her love of God and her devotion shines in all that she did and all that she was. She was a faithful servant in the Lord’s work, she took great pride in the Quinn United Church and helped in whatever way she could to make it a valued pillar in the community.
Edith was often noted to be running the roads with a trail of dust in the car’s wake in her efforts to assist members of her community and her family. She gave so much of herself and her time in the act of volunteerism. These things mattered greatly to her and gave her tremendous joy. It has never been more evident of how many lives our mom has truly touched than in the stories and memories that have been recounted in her death. Truly a life well lived!
