I remember Ruth from her substitute teaching days at the Comber Centennial Central after she retired. Very intimidating to a young boy of 5-10 years old.....and that was good. I have fond memories. She was also a friend of my parents Earl & Gladys Dietrich. My condolences to the entire family for your loss.

My sympathy goes to Ray and Darlene in the loss of your dear Aunt Ruth, whom I had the privilege to meet while my husband was at Tilbury Manor. You were so dedicated in your caring for this lovely lady on a daily basis, and you deserve mountains of credit. Our thoughts are with you and your entire family.

Bill was one of our mother's only cousins on her mom's side of the family. We would often visit the farm many years ago. Ruth was a lovely kind lady and had a long and happy life.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Traquair's passing.
She used to come to Comber P.S. 2 or 3 days a week to teach in the afternoons when Mr. Plato was visiting the rural schools. I remember she was strict, and one didn't want to get one's name in her little book! I don't know what happened if you did. I liked her and learned a lot, eventually I became a teacher myself.
Sincerely,
Jane (Dobbyn) Miller

It takes a Community to raise a boy….Ruth, and of course Bill, were definitely a major part of my Community. Whether learning to read Dick and Jane, dangling our toes off the raft in the pond to catch bluegills, riding our bikes at Point Pelee, or riding a roller coaster at Boblo Island, Ruth was always up for an adventure! I will never forget the great times I was able to share with this truly wonderful person.

I had Mrs. Traquair for my grade 2 teacher. She was good but very strict. I had the great pleasure to get to know Ruth when I became an adult and valued her friendship, wisdom, great sense of humour and caring personality. To know her was to love her.
She will be missed. Deepest sympathy to her family.

My great aunt Ruth lived a wonderful life. I’m heartened by the fact my parents were by her side, holding her hand as she passed peacefully. Honoured to be a pallbearer and remembering her stories and legacy with a smile. I’ve added a few photos of her Indian motorcycle and reflecting with her about her time as Secretary-Treasurer of the local school board.

Darlene & Ray:- What a great lady Ruth has always been. We always enjoyed any time we were able to spend with her & she always was able to keep me updated on most of the Nussey Family. I always considered her my “Personal Historian” & found our visits to be so informative. I will be thinking of you on January 7th. So glad you were able to be with her during her last moments. She was always so appreciative of everything you folks did for her & Bill. Wishing you both good health in the future. Verona & Gerry Fidler

To Ruth's family - Ruth was a wonderful, dear woman, and I enjoyed our many conversations. We kept quiet during her beloved tv show "Heartland", and I always remembered to sign her visitors book at the home. She will be missed by all!
