Obituary of Richard Lafond

LAFOND, Richard Armand

71 years of Jeannette's Creek, ON passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021.  Beloved husband of Linda (Reaume) Lafond for over 50 years.  Loving father of Rick, (Daughter-in-law Caroline), Renay (TJ) Brew.  Survived by siblings Edward (Gertrude), Gerald (Claudette), Rheal (Anne), Denis (Lorraine), Thérèse (late Gilles) Bigras, Rachelle  (Gaetan) Danis, Pauline (Gaston) Betty, Lise (late Mike) Alain, Olive (late Albert) Audet and Linda (Robert) Desormiers.

Cherished Papa to Jalen Reynolds, and Haley McElwain, Logan, Kaden, Mercedez, Alexia, and Blake Brew, Brody and Riley Lafond.  His grandchildren meant everything to him.

Predeceased by parents Olivier (1983) and Lucienne (2013); Siblings Aurele (1986), René (1988), Claudette (1999), and Yvon (2017).  He is survived by many nieces and nephews.  Originally from Cache Bay, Ontario area, he moved to Tilbury in 1967.  There he met the love of his life Linda and married in 1971.  He became a body technician and painter, and excelled in both.  For 27 years he operated Lafond's Body Shop.  After semi-retirement he was employed at Fix Auto, Chatham.

Richard was caring and giving and would help anyone.  He was witty and we all enjoyed his Dad jokes. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
