Obituary of Cecile Marie Madeleine Quenneville

QUENNEVILLE., Cécile Marie-Madeleine

April 12, 1927 - March 30, 2021

Bravely and peacefully, our dear sister Cécile left for her eternal home Tuesday March 30 2021 amid the Heron Terrace angels and family, twelve days before her 94th birthday. Beloved first daughter of Rosaire Quenneville (1983) and Arise (Lévesque) (1986). Dearest sister of Sr. Marie-Anne Quenneville osu, Paul Q. (Jennie 2012), Marguerite Murtagh (Joe 2017), Simone Balsam (Stan), Claire Pitre (Reg 2019), Jeanne Q., Thérèse Q. She was predeceased by her dear brothers Luc Q. (1994) (Elaine), Bernard Q. (1995) (Irene), Philippe Q. (2005) (Bev 2016), (Anne-Marie 2007) and Louis Q. (2009) (Carmen 2007). Cécile had a special place in her heart for all her 44 Quenneville, Balsam, Pitre, Mongenais, Bisnaire and Murtagh nieces and nephews and their families. She honed her work ethic at home on the farm, at the canning factory, the bank, the grocery store. She retired after 25 years as a Registered Nurses' Assistant and frontline residential counsellor at Southwestern Regional Center, Cedar Springs. There she was a constant advocate of love and forgiveness. She would bring goodies from home to the residents and host little tea parties. From her parents, she inherited an unshakable, unwavering faith and prayed at home, in prayer groups and in the choir at mass. She was blessed with kind neighbours, fun-loving co-workers and wonderful friends, especially Bernice, Alice, Ursule, Sharman, Marie-Terese, Maurice, Beatrice and many others. In her spare time, our sis loved baking, reading, doing needle work, ceramics, gardening, enjoying music, volunteering, all the while having lots of good laughs. Her favourite place in the whole world was Pointe-aux-Roches and her make-believe escape was New York. Cécile was born on a Tuesday in Holy week, and died on a Tuesday in Holy week almost 94 years later... so very fitting for the Easterly person she always was. We wish to thank all staff at Heron Terrace Windsor, and especially all Shallows Lane workers for their outstanding care and compassion. Our dear grande soeur, tante and bonne amie will be sorely missed. In remembrance of Cécile, if you wish, do a good deed for an elderly person or someone in need, have fun or you could consider giving to the Visitation Parish Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
