Obituary of Verna Marie Waites

WAITES, Verna

March 19, 1931 – February 10, 2021

Verna Marie Waites passed away peacefully, at the age of 89 years, on Wednesday February 10, 2021, at the Sun Parlor Home, Leamington, Ontario.  Beloved wife of the late Clarence Waites (1999).  She was a wonderful mother to Keith (Marilyn), Carol (Richard) Hunter, Kenneth (Sherry), Kevin (Angie), Janet (Peter) Hack.  Sadly missed by her Grandchildren, Jamie (Michelle) Waites, Shawn (Sonya) Waites, Erik (Jen) Waites, Christopher Hunter, Darryl (Shara) Hunter, Jennifer Waites-Stubbert (Joshua Stubbert), Heather Waites-Rhodes (Sheldon Rhodes), Michael (Dawn) Waites, Adam Waites, Sarah Waites, Katelyn Hack, Kyle (Jessica Sabelli) Hack .  Precious Great Grandma to Brayden, Liam, Rain, Lexi, Ethan, Mieyer, Sephora, Jesse, Josiah, Xaiden, Dexton, Reid (2015), Ayla and Logan.  Predeceased by her brother Clair (Marion) and her parents, Morley and Ethel Reid.  Dear Sister-in-law to Glen (Marilyn), Earl (Gertrude)(Marilyn, 2002), and Bob (Ruth Anne).  She had many nieces and nephews.  Clarence and Verna raised their five children in the former Tilbury West Township. Verna had many passions including gardening, riding the John Deere lawn mower, baking, crocheting, and canning various fruits and vegetables throughout her years on the farm. Everyone loved coming for Sunday night suppers enjoying her delicious meals and tasty homemade desserts. She was an amazing person who provided lots of love and support to her husband and family.  She loved her church community and worked tirelessly at church suppers, pie making and quilting bees, and taking her turn at manning the Comber Fair UCW booth.  Special thanks to Dr. Gow and 3E staff of the Sun Parlor Home for their kindness and compassion.  Mom will remain forever in our hearts and cherished in our memories.  Love you Mom.  Visitation at Reaume Funeral Home Inc., 6 Canal St. W., Tilbury on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 2-6 p.m.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions you must register at the following link to attend https://signup.com/go/MbzbMbB or call 519-682-0110 between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. only to make an appointment.  A private family service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 with Interment to follow at McDowell Cemetery, Comber.
